  • A Leased Line is a permanently connected link used for voice, data and Internet traffic; dedicated to a particular customer and delivered along a predetermined route.

This private link or circuit is installed between two points; your premises and our network; to provide a dedicated, reliable and always on connection.

There are many different types of Leased Lines, but in the UK the term, 'Leased Line' includes a range of line types and speeds, i.e. T1/T3 /E1/ E2/ DSO/ DS1 etc.

Each of the terms above are ways of describing the speed of the connection; i.e. a T1 Leased Line gives you 1.544mb/s whereby a DS0 is 64Kb/s. The E1, which is a very popular middle ground choice, offers 2.054mb per second.

Most people encompass their entire private circuit technology as Leased Lines and then simply determine the speed they need to support their business; this can be anything from 64k to 8Mb.
