ISDN2e Telephone Lines

It's not only large corporations that need high-quality telephony services. More people are now choosing to work from small offices or the home.

ISDN2e is the preferred high-performance voice and data service for small offices; with a basic installation you can connect up to 8 digital devices and make 2 calls simultaneously.

ISDN offers 64/128k internet access - useful if Broadband hasn't yet reached your exchange.

At approximately the same cost as 2 conventional telephone lines, a 2-channel ISDN2e circuit provides superior call quality.

Lines

A single ISDN2e line has two 64k channels. In normal operation you use these separately; enabling you to make two calls simultaneously or to speak on the phone whilst sending a fax. You can add further ISDN2e circuits to your installation if your telephone system allows for this, increasing the number of simultaneous connections or available data bandwidth.

Devices

You can connect up to eight digital devices to a single ISDN2e circuit. These can be digital telephones, digital fax machines or computers equipped with an ISDN modem. You can also use analogue equipment, which you connect to the ISDN circuit through an interface called a terminal adapter. By using a different line configuration, instead of connecting eight digital devices you can connect a digital telephone system.

Telephone numbers

If you wish, you can have separate phone numbers for telephones or other devices connected to your circuit. How you do this depends on your line configuration. If you connect devices directly to the circuit, you can have up to nine additional MSN (Multi Subscriber Numbers) phone numbers which you allocate to your equipment. If you use a telephone system, you can have an unlimited number of DDI (Direct Dialling-In) numbers.
