SDSL

Features:

  • 0.5 / 1Mb / 2Mb options available
  • Synchronous Upload/Download speeds
  • Range of contention 5:1 / 10:1
  • Wires only and/or fully managed options
  • Traditional asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) technology provides a range of download speeds, but restricts uploads to 256kbps. SDSL uses Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line technology to provide similar speeds for both uploading and downloading.

Unlike ADSL, SDSL does not support traditional telephony, thus freeing up bandwidth for data. The result is a dedicated Internet connection that is fast, efficient and cost-effective. SDSL offers a range of line speeds – 2Mbps, 1Mbps and 512kbps – enabling you to upload data up to eight times faster than ADSL.

    Connectivity improves productivity

SDSL helps you make the most of your organisation’s time and resources by improving connectivity between the different elements of your organisation and enabling flexible and collaborative working practices.

It supports IPSec virtual private networks (VPN), enabling you to:

    • Connect your business sites together; cost-effectively and at high speed
    • Offer teleworkers a fast and efficient connection to your servers
    • Host your own websites and mail servers
    • Send and receive data at the same speed
    • Implement collaborative applications such as video streaming and video conferencing

    Cut costs and boost revenue

SDSL offers a range of cost-effective and revenue generating opportunities. You can reduce third party administration and maintenance costs by hosting your own email and web servers in-house.

    Installation

An engineer will install your SDSL socket; to which you connect your SDSL compatible router.
